Macro issue....

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Kiran. He was studying his 10th class. He was from a remote village of Andhra Pradesh. He was preparing very hard (it seems*) for exams and unfortunately failed in public exams. And some people started to laugh at him and made fun of his failure in exams. After such incidents that poor boy has taken the ultimate step and passed away leaving his family in ocean of tears. Those who laughed at him started to feel bad for him and consoled his parents(after his death).

Opposition (political) parties started to visit his family, conveyed their condolences, and promised that they are behind the family. Some other kids also took that step and passed away. The number grew to tune of 10s. Opposition started agitations on govt. for being cold to these incidents. They demanded the govt that all these students(who are no more) should be given completion certificates of class 10. And at least 5 lakh rupees should be given to the family as Ex Gratia, at least one family member should be given employment. They found fault with the staff, who corrected papers, for the failure of these students.

"Will the govt agree to the demands of opposition or not is interesting to know. But the demand from people is clear that these students should be declared as "passed" and Ex Gratia should be given. with cameraman WorstEyes, Sana, hyd, TV0. " ...

If you find the first two paragraphs here to be a worst situation or awkward thing to speak about, its almost the same happening with "micro finance" issue. If they(farmers or other borrowers) commit suicide, if the loan is to be waived - what will it indicate? Isn't it encouraging for suicides? It really pathetic the way our politicians leading the public. They are building more lazy people. They are creating a tendency to BEG not the tendency to work hard and earn what you need.

Micro finance firms will have some targets about their turnover. To meet that, they give loans to anyone who need it or who is willing to take. This is where the issue lying.

While I was watching one of the stupid TV news channels (difficult to find a good one), I saw only one politician making a clear statement on this. "It is the responsibility of the micro finance firms to check the background of the borrower whether he/she is genuinely in need and can pay back the loan amount. People when being given free rice, they will take. Free pulses, free houses they will take anything coming at free of cost and if freely available why don't they take the loan. The filtering should be done before giving the loan and the people shouldn't be harassed for repayment by the micro finance firms." Well said sir (BV Raghavulu). All other persons(politicians) in the discussion insisted on waiving off the loans and Ex Gratia and employment to one family member. No one else spoke about preventive measures. One gentleman went on to demand for waiving all the loans given by all micro finance firms !!!!!! Really stupid leaders we have...

Measures to prevent these incidents(in my view):
  • Should be cautious while sanctioning a loan(irrespective of amount)
  • Check whether the need of borrower is genuine.
  • Check whether he/she will be able to repay
  • monthly monitoring of borrower's investment and consulting about repayment of installments by recovery teams of these firms. (monitoring but not harassing). If possible, a team that can guide the borrower to get out of financial troubles in his/her business.
  • The most imp thing is: those(the general public) who are around the person being harassed need not defend him/her in front of the recovery agents. But should not insult him/her and better they provide the mental support if possible.
Small things do matter a lot and sometimes cost the lives of people!!!

My god!!! Bless my people with the knowledge
They need to lead their lives in the righteous path!!!

Bless my country with Leaders ...
Who can take the nation into a Prosperous Future!!!

* the reason i mentioned "it seems" in brackets is: in micro finance issue, most of the persons who are getting the loan are found to be undeserving. to relate to this situation, the word it seems is used. and the example tenth class boy is to make it a point - what is the need of loan waiving (awarding class ten certification cannot be compared directly, but situation is almost similar). In both cases, we are bothered about post the death of person and not about preventive part. To indicate this, the example case is used.

Ya ur point of order is good. The solution is also very simple. And the solution is unique for all the problems. Let the govt dont encourage the people to be lazy.
