Hi!!!!!
In my previous posts, I mentioned that Nature is the best teacher, its only we - who need to identify her teachings...
So, here is an interesting experiment, rather an experiment( you tell me whether it is interesting or not :P).
Normally the flow of smoke is upwards in nature and you normally cannot drive it downwards. May be wind blowing downwards work. But without any external force, we cannot change its direction. This can be proved wrong by below experiment.
Items you need:
- Candle
- match box
- a transparent closed box with two holes(as shown in figure)
- Dhoop-stick
Procedure:
Keep the candle inside the box - just below the bigger hole, as shown in the figure. Light the candle. Bring a dhoop-stick (with flame) and keep it above the second whole of the box. You can now observe the flow of the smoke. Interestingly its direction is downwards. The smoke from the dhoop-stick will be entering into the box!!!!
Reason:
The candle increases the internal temperature of the box and produces smoke. This increases the pressure inside the box. But, the big hole exactly above the flame of candle will work in the other way. The heating effect makes the air lighter and it(hot air) escapes through the big hole along with the smoke of the candle's flame. The escape of air makes the box a low pressure area when compared with external atmosphere. Thus, the air outside the box enters the box with force from the second hole(since first hole wont allow downward flow of air - due to flame from candle).
So, which way its connected to Recession?????
Think that the closed box is the opportunities in world of IT. And the high density air - if no hole is available - will create high pressure inside the box. In our scenario, high density air is highly-paid resources. Recession is the hole provided above the candle in the diagram. So, in this process high density air will go out of box. The small hole is to fill the gap with fresh air and normalize the pressure inside the box.
So what shall we do to survive???
Reduce the pressure to the extent with which you can resist the pressure exerted on you to go out. Voluntarily, you ask your management to reduce your pay :-) :-) to the limit which is not a burden to your organization....
