How to succeed amidst Hype and Huge Expectations

Hi All,

Again I came with a new real-life example to illustrate a lesson - a very important one in this competitive world.

With the urge to prove ourselves, in a big world of oppurtunities and even a bigger world of competition, we set our goals sky high and project them to concerned people as our expectations. We, in this way, have been increasing expectations of our service consumers or our bossess to such a level that we have to work exceedingly well only to meet the expectations. So, how can we impress with our work or get rated as EE( Exceeds Expectations ) or more is a biggest question since, expectation is a common thing everywhere. As we grow up, people's expectations will also grew higher and higher. So, how to live upto it and exceed?

There are different ways to achieve it and one real-life example really kept me in thoughts. Once again I wish to make it clear that the example I am going to state may not be a solution for all. But we can definitely have some take-away from this. It is related to film industry(TollyWood)

Recently, MM Keeravaani ( Music Director ) and SS Rajamouli names have been rocking in the state ( Andhra Pradesh ) for unfair reason. Tollywood's most awaited Movie of the Year - Magadheera's audio is released in a big way and the above duo are the Music Director and Director for this movie respectively. The film is expected to be one of the biggest hits. Audio is released under so much of hype and expectations.
The general principle is - as mentioned earlier - even though you may excel in completion of your task, but if the expectations are high you sometimes may fall below the expectations also. Many of the films with good content fail to become Hits for the same reason(High Expectations). And for a movie, the first product that comes into market is the audio of the film. If it is a success, the expectations go even higher. This - may be out of someone's experience SS Rajamouli observed. And have been taking care that his movies' music is not going to take the expectations further higher. Just like his earlier films, Magadheera's audio also is a big dud with dull songs, not really reaching the sky-high expectations and bringing down the audience and fans' expectations on the movie as well.

Carefully if one observes - right from his first film - all his movies' audio is just average. This way, he is able to manage in reducing the expectations of audience with audio release and then exceeding their (reduced and little) expectations with his magical taking. One really wonders to know if he is following this formula or just a coincidence.

If you want to Exceed Expectations, there are two ways -
1. Perform exceedingly well
2. Bring down people's Expectations on you and perform well.

After all, your previous works are the bench-mark for your performances.

Have a nice time..
Ur Viswanath
