To be a Responsible Human-Being is not Dearer Now, see how.

To be a Responsible Human-Being is not Dearer Now, see how…

Things that we can afford to do...

  • Grow plants at flats in small bowls and pots – would hardly cost 150 rupees (depending on the types of plants we chose, if we chose Sycas, it would be three thousand rupees of course JJ )
  • During summer, place a bowl of water on terrace - for birds. One Litre a day, in severe drought areas, its difficult. But, in cities – its just nothing. Just a drop in the Ocean of water we waste everyday.
  • Ensure water taps at home are working properly. If not, get them repaired. This small amounts of water leaks might look simple to our eyes, but there are places where getting a jug of water is difficult and if we ignore now, the entire world is going to be like that in near future. (Small Savings Scheme – very effective)
  • Ensure electrical appliances are turned off when they are not in use. THE ENERGY YOU SAVE IS THE ENERGY YOU GENERATE.
  • Avoid plastic usage to the best possible extent and use jute bags instead.
  • While going for shopping, carry your own bag to avoid unnecessary use of plastic. We are producing metric tons of plastic waste everyday (refer to the following link http://igreenthink.wordpress.com/ ).

These entire things cost nothing, but a little time of yours. It’s an investment you make for the better living of your next Generation.

Few things may be we can try to do:

  • For smaller distances, avoid using your motor vehicles. Just like for bringing milk packets, prefer to go by walk. This is a small contribution to Environment but multifold when we consider the total number of rides you save over a period of time. Here, you save on Air Pollution and Fuel Consumption besides keeping yourself fitJJ.
  • Try using Public transport for your daily use, if possible and if it suits your profile.
  • If you use a car for only one person (that’s you), try with a bike and be proud that you are contributing for the well-being of our next generation.
  • Use Solar Power for electric appliances, if you can afford to. Solar Energy, if we don’t use, would go waste everyday. Let’s try making full use of it.
  • Water Harvesting Pits: A very effective method to improve ground water levels. If you have an individual house, plan to have at least one pit for water harvesting. It helps very effectively in managing rain water to efficient use.

If you have something to share, pls feel free to use comments area.

Let’s bring back the beauty of Earth and try to make it a Heaven of Beauties….

Save Earth - We have only One!!!

Lakhs and Lakhs of Birds Cry there...
Thinking that their pals soon would die there..
Global Warming signing Global warning
Concrete Jungles are not moved...
Concrete minds are just unmoved...
Green Plants are going away..
While Industrial plants making their way..
Nature is no more natural
Green patches on Earth are Fading away...

30 Years Later....

Blue Sky turned Red...
Smiley Sun is now showing Anger..
Full moon Fun coming once in a Blue Moon..
Trees can be seen only in Toy Shops..
Drinking Water is now a feeling
You cannot experience it..
(people r fighting to watch" Drinking Water " - a 4-d film)

Earth has now become a complete Hearth
Going out of home is a dream..
Everywhere... its work from home..
No water to cultivate Food Grains.
No one to work in Agricultural Fields..

The Most Beautiful Planet ...
With Green Bed covering...
With Full Spread Waters
With Blue and Beautiful Sky..
With Songs of Nightingale
With Melodies of Dry Leaves in the Summer Breeze
Has Turned the Wildest Place to Live..

Save Earth.. To fulfill the Dreams and Prayers of Our Next Generations...
There's Only One Earth In the Universe.....

I LOVE YOU!!!

There are people who dont know how to write their name in English, but there are no people who dont know about ........ ....... I LOVE YOU.

There is no doubt that I LOVE YOU or 1 4 3 is the most popular line in the world.

The main intent of this post is not to discuss the greatness of these three words. But, to introspect into our perception of the word Love.

Rahul, a college going guy, proudly says that he wakes up at 6 in the morning only to see his lady love jogging in the Park. Smita, a software engineer, claims that she turned vegetarian to impress her Boy friend. Times are changing. When a responsible father tells his son to wake up early in the morning and do some healthy exercise, he takes in a wrong sense and blames his father for outdated suggestion. If the same words are spelled by his lady-love, they turn sweet to the ears of this guy. It is good that he is listening to the good told by at least one person, but the question to be asked is what is love?

Wake-up by six or before, prepare breakfast that her child likes the most and serve on time, provide everything to the child to go to school or college or office (kids are always small to the eyes of parents). In the afternoon, confirm whether the child has taken lunch or not. Wait till the evening for the child. Again prepare food and serve all that the child needs. This is the routine for any mom in this world. Never in her life-time, she puts any conditions to the child. That is love. Love is not conditional and cannot be. These lines are applicable to the Fathers also.

To love a person is -- caring for a person, irrespective of anything.

Well-wishers - the most often used term after love and friendship. Well-wisher is not the one who sees only for your momentary happiness and not the one who accepts to whatever you do. But, Well-Wisher is the one who tries to correct all your mistakes, persistently. Well-wisher is the one who stays behind you in times of sad and sorrow. He is the one who guides you through the life, correcting your path ( you might not know you are wrong ). Being silent at the time when you require guidance is not the wise quality and he is not a Well-Wisher.

There are two ways, you want the person in your life OR you want the person to be happy in his/her life. The second category is Being a Well-Wisher.

Our parents are always our well-wishers.

Changing for someone is not Love. Its infact not good for you also. As said in BhagavadGita, You should not try to imitate any other person's life style. Try improving your own style, by taking the help of those "Who Really Wish for Your Well-Being".

Fill this world with Love and Wish for the well-being of Everyone you know and you dont know !!!!

Good & Bad !!!!

Today I am going to share two different experiences. One - you can say a best practice. The other - I want you to give it some name....
The first one is ....
Last Saturday, I was waiting at Dhaba bus stop ( Gachchibowli to Mehidipatnam road ) for bus. I should go to Mehidipatnam. An auto was stopped - its going to Mehidipatnam, the autowala said. So, I got into it and was the only one in the auto. The fare was Rs. 8 and I decided to give him Rs.10 ( :-) since he gets only my fare for the total 10KM distance ). The route : Dhaba --> Dargah--> Shekpet --> Galaxy--> ToliChowki --> Nanal Nagar --> Rethibowli --> Mehedipatnam
As we reached ToliChowki, the autowala said - He could come till RethiBowli only. I asked him " You said you would come till Mehdipatnam". He said Ok. And He stopped auto near Rethibowli and told me to be seated in auto. Out of curiosity, I got down to see what he is doing. He has been stopping auto for me. One auto stopped and I got into it. I gave this guy ten, he returned two rupees to me and paid four rupees for the other auto( Mehdipatnam ). I was moved by his service.
On the other hand, today, when I am coming to office in an APSRTC bus ( Rt number: 116N), I witnessed 'Self'-service :-) :-). I got into this bus at NanalNagar. And somewhere near Dargah or Shekpet, one fellow got into the bus( not only one :-), but he is the subject of this topic ). He had to take ticket, but stood silently. Since, the bus will be too crowded, its not easier for conductor to reach each passenger for the ticket at everystop. Somehow, the conductor came to this guy and asked where he wants to go. This guy gave the conductor Rs.3 and said Khajaguda. The conductor said "I know where you got into bus".( from that place the ticket would be five rupees) and took the three rupees. After few minutes, he gave ticket for Rs.2. And I know the biggest culprit is - the person who is posting the blog here. I managed only to become a silent witness to this, than anything better thing.
Indians are suffering from Poverty. Not financial , but THOUGHT POVERTY. People like autowala above are exceptions.

Swine Flu -- Prevention is better than Cure!!!!

In case you have not read this……………………..

###############

Thanks to media hype about H1N1, several people who trust me have either approached or called me to advice. The hype in media about the utility of face masks and N95 respirators as a tool for general protection against H1N1 can't be deplored enough. Yesterday, a friend who listened wanted me to write down briefly what I advised so that he could tell others in similar words. Hence this short email to friends whom I have advised recently (and others whom I haven't yet). Please realize that this is not an official advice, especially the one about face masks or N95.

###############

Most N95 respirators are designed to filter 95% particulates of 0.3µ, while the size of H1N1 virus is about 0.1µ. Hence, dependence on N95 to protect against H1N1 is like protecting against rain with an umbrella made of mosquito net.

###############

Tamiflu does not kill but prevents H1N1 from further proliferation till the virus limits itself in about 1-2 weeks (its natural cycle). H1N1, like other Influenza A viruses, only infects the upper respiratory tract and proliferates (only) there. The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/ throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

###############

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps - not fully highlighted in most official communications - can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):
1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

###############

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

###############

3. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

###############

4. Similar to 3 above, clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.

###############

5. Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

###############

6. Drink as much of warm liquids as you can. Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

###############

All these are simple ways to prevent, within means of most households, and certainly much less painful than to wait in long queues outside public hospitals.
Happy breathing!

A Tribute......

Once there was a boy..... full of Energy, Enthusiasm and down to Earth. Always, no matter where he was going and what he was doing, he carried one thing with him, which many of us neglect --- its the Smile..... He used to make people laugh, whereever he goes. All those people he knows, loved him for his vision towards life. He never left his friends when their mood is disturbed. But, the fact that many of his people dont know was - that he was going to die(due to Blood Cancer). People around him shocked to know about this. Very soon they came to know that fact, he died taking the smiles away from them. After few days, they are back to their normal lives. But his message remained with them.... "Life is too short, Live it cheerfully....."

Life -- A journey of journeys with a mixture of Happiest and Sorrowful moments. No matter who you are, your life on Earth is going to end someday. It is in Our hands to make it a Beautiful Journey and to show others the Path to follow. Yesterday can never become tomorrow, while a tomorrow or today will become Yesterday. Concentrate on Your Today and Tomorrow to see a "Wonderful World" when you look back to past after few years.
After all, Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday!!!

The Most Dangerous & Contagious Disease of the Modern Age

Good morning...
This post is a common experience to all of us, in our day to day life.
It is about a Dangerous and Contagious Disease ...
It has no medicine, only prevention and controlling it from propagating can be done..
No It is not AIDS or any other Disease....It is ANGER.
You Read it right only.. its the Anger...
This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space
I normally Start my day with a Smile on my face and singing a nice song...I ensure myself that I am going to have a pleasant day.....Most of us do the same way......
But, before We reach our Office or College, we definitely experience atleast one Jhalak by another bike rider or Autowala...
This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space
This is the moment we lose our Cool and Pleasant feel of the day.........Even if you are under your control, the other person may provoke you to the state of anger...If you accepted his provokation, you invited the Villain of Your Own Day.....And you are going to do only the copy-paste operation, but not cut-paste operation ( I mean to say, the Villain wont leave the first person, it just sends a branch to you..). If you keep it within yourself, that is fine. Otherwise it expands its branches to others. And propagates very quickly.. spoiling many pleasant "Man Hours" :-) :-)...

The Best way to Fight against this Villain of Our Day is -- Not allowing him to propagate from One to Other... Irrespective of Our mood and situation, Meet all Our companions (including this Villain) with a Pleasant Smile on Our Face....
This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space This is blank space
Have a Pleasant Time.........
